I just reread your article. Again it has given me some hope. I stopped writing on substack for a few weeks. After expressing my opinion on tRump his followers came down on me like a ton of bricks. I don't mind a conversation with people who speak using their mind but the vile personal attacks were just too much. Also why bother having a discussion with someone who has no intention of listening to any other point of view. I have not made a decision on whether or not to continue with substack but for now I am not putting my thoughts into words. After all what is one more small voice when far more learned people have no clue. Shalom
I must say, this was a great piece, Seneca would have a lot to say about this topic. I found a certain comfort in reading this as a practising stoic myself. But I have adjusted it to my own philosophy, too.
